In der 1970 gegründeten Reihe erscheinen Arbeiten, die philosophiehistorische Studien mit einem systematischen Ansatz oder systematische Studien mit philosophiehistorischen Rekonstruktionen verbinden. Neben deutschsprachigen werden auch englischsprachige Monographien veröffentlicht. Gründungsherausgeber sind: Erhard Scheibe (Herausgeber bis 1991), Günther Patzig (bis 1999) und Wolfgang Wieland (bis 2003). Von 1990 bis 2007 wurde die Reihe von Jürgen Mittelstraß mitherausgegeben.

Carl Schmitt ist ein beruhmter Jurist und politischer Denker des 20. Jahrhunderts, gleichermassen umstritten wie wirkungsmachtig. Seine Schriften sind bekannt, Zeugnisse zu den Stationen seines Lebens, die zum Verstandnis der Werke notwendig sind, dagegen erst zum Teil. Die Tagebucher Carl Schmitts aus den Jahren 1930 bis 1934 zeigen einen zutiefst ambivalenten Menschen: selbstbewusster Ehrgeiz und Hochstimmung uber das Erreichte, dann wieder Selbstzweifel und Depressionen; konzentriertes Arbeiten an zum Teil epochemachenden Aufsatzen, Vortragen und Buchern, abgelost von Phasen der hilflosen Inaktivitat; peinlich (...) genaue Erfullung seiner vielfaltigen Pflichten als Hochschullehrer neben ausgedehntem Gasthausbesuch und starkem Weinkonsum; sein Leben als glucklicher Ehemann und Vater zugleich mit erotischen Abenteuern und Leidenschaften. Besonders auffallend und zum Teil bedruckend ist das Nebeneinander von Hochachtung und Herzlichkeit gegenuber Juden und Katholiken und dann wieder von bis zum Hass gehender tief sitzender Abneigung. Hinzu kommen die Versuche, bis zum letzten Moment an der Verhinderung einer nationalsozialistischen Regierung mitzuwirken, und intensive, sogar teilweise begeisterte Mitarbeit nach deren Machtantritt, wobei dennoch immer wieder Zweifel aufkommen. Carl Schmitts Tagebucher umfassen ein reiches Panorama des politischen, akademischen, kunstlerischen und geistigen Lebens vor allem im Berlin der Endphase der Weimarer Republik und der beginnenden NS-Herrschaft, mit einer Fulle von Ereignissen und Personen aus der politischen und akademischen Welt, besonders aus dem Umkreis der "Konservativen Revolution," kaum aus dem nationalsozialistischen. Die Ausgabe bietet den annotierten Text der Tagebucher selbst, ubertragen aus den Gabelsberger Kurzschrift-Aufzeichnungen, dazu umfangreiche zu ihnen gehorende Notizen mit Betrachtungen und Hinweisen zu den Ereignissen sowie zu Carl Schmitts begleitender Lekture. Der Hauptzweck der Ausgabe liegt in der Bereitstellung des Materials fur eine weitere Aufhellung entscheidender Jahre des Wirkens von Carl Schmitt. Insbesondere mussen sie mit seinen wissenschaftlichen und publizistischen Arbeiten und den zahlreichen Briefwechseln zusammengesehen werden, die mehr und mehr veroffentlicht werden. Endgultig eingeordnet werden konnen sie dann, wenn ahnliche, sich selbst nicht schonende Lebenszeugnisse von anderen Zeitgenossen zuganglich sind. Auch insofern stehen sie jetzt einzig da.". We argue that Wittgenstein’s philosophical perspective on Gödel’s most famous theorem is even more radical than has commonly been assumed. Wittgenstein shows in detail that there is no way that the Gödelian construct of a string of signs could be assigned a useful function within (ordinary) mathematics. — The focus is on Appendix III to Part I of Remarks on the Foundations of Mathematics. In the last decades of Analytical Philosophy, contributions to the so-called mind-body-problem have been suffering by several serious methodological misunderstandings: they have failed, for instance, to distinguish between explanations of particular and strictly general ("necessary") properties and between two important senses of existential statements; and they have overlooked the role conceptual explanations play in the development of science. Changing our methodological premisses, we should be able to put questions like that of the (...) relation between (neuro)physiological and psychological phenomena in a new way - and we should be able to see that such newly understood questions allow answers which evade the pitfalls of both reductionist and holistic positions. The paper tries to illustrate and to defend these contentions by reference to a very elementary example: the rational re-building of our concepts to identify behaviour by which a subject controls the position of his body in space. This section aims to summarize and conclude Part I in the form of a taxonomy of legitimate and illegitimate corporate moral responsibility attributions. I believe we can categorise four types of corporate moral responsibility attributions two of which are legitimate and two which are illegitimate with regard to our concept of moral agency and our moral intuition of fairness.

We analyze the degree-structure induced by large reducibilities under the Axiom of Determinacy. This generalizes the analysis of Borel reducibilities given in Alessandro Andretta and Donald A. Martin [1], Luca Motto Ros [6] and Luca Motto Ros. [5] e.g. to the projective levels.
